Micron Technology, Boise, ID

I am proud to present Resilience to the public space here in Boise, Idaho.

The concept of “Resilience” is inspired by Micron’s collaborative clean water project with Boise State University and the Winston Moore Family Endowment. The conservation project involves the restoration of the Boise River along the Intermountain Bird Observatory’s Diane Moore Nature Center. The project is testament to Micron’s commitment to the community in which it originated and demonstrates the cooperative actions the company has with organizations and educational groups to steward the regional environment.

Micron worked closely with these groups to fund the re-habilitation of the section in the Boise River just below the Lucky Peak spillway. The plan has improved fish and wildlife habitat and water quality by re-establishing a riverside channel that encourages preservation of the natural environment, the recharge of ground water, and the ease of potential flooding. In addition, the site holds an educational component that coincides with Micron’s dedication to sustainability and its long-term investment in partnering with local STEM programs.

Arise. This nearly two year project charts the creation of a large scale work of public art, and the career of Garden City, Idaho based, artist/blacksmith, Susan Madacsi.

Listen. The inception of a project is facilitated by being open to the influences of place and inspirations.
